There is something magical about Italy. Picture-perfect vistas, charming towns, an air of romance and of course…the food. For our 10th wedding anniversary my husband & I spent two weeks discovering “Il dolce far niente” (the sweetness of doing nothing) in beautiful, inspirational & bellissima Italy.

When I started Kushcush seven years ago, my husband gave me a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition book with a sweet note of encouragement written on the inside cover.
Now, seven years later, the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit book Heaven by world renowned SI photographer Walter Iooss contains a photo of Marisa Miller wearing one of my swimsuits. It’s a gorgeous book and feels like a small moment of coming full circle.

In other behind-the-scene news, the office is busy, busy, busy these days getting everything prepped and ready for market. Jayne from the Apparel News stopped by the studio today to pull some pieces for her new ‘trends’ story which means we are officially into the season… hello swim 2011! I have about 400 unanswered emails (sorry everyone!) and have been diligently crazed scouting locations for our lookbook photo shoot, casting models and finalizing the collection. Whew! Wish me luck! ~KC

I’ve been a fan for years (and not just because they are in the adjacent design studio and I could shop their sample sales on my way from the elevator…although yes, shopping in the workplace is fabulous).
